Poetic Justice presents An Afternoon with SAM HUNT

Legendary New Zealand poet Sam Hunt is coming to town, performing a one-off show at the Luggate Hall on Sunday, September 11.

Sam Hunt has toured New Zealand as a professional poet for over 40 years, showcasing his work in pubs, halls, cafes and schools, an almost lone ambassador for poetry as a spoken art. He is, as one reviewer describes him: “freewheeling ordinary bloke, a kind of Kiwi Jack Kerouac, laconic— somewhat gauche—whose poems or “roadsongs” are direct and simple, surprised by their own powerful emotion.”

Thanks to the Upper Clutha Community Arts Council CLASS scheme and QLDC’s branch of Creative New Zealand for helping us keep ticket prices can be kept affordable at only $15!

Hunt will be supported at the Luggate Hall by a selection of local poets. Wines from Olssens winery will be on sale, as will afternoon tea treats from The Creek.

Where: Luggate Memorial Hall,

When: Sunday September 11 at 2pm.

Tickets $15 from Wanaka Fine Wines, Helwick Street, Wanaka – CASH ONLY. Door sales available only if the event is not sold out beforehand.
