Poetic Justice back for 2011

It was back to work for Poetic Justice yesterday as we kicked off 2011 with our first Open Mic of the year. The night began with a Robbie-Burns-themed round of Crambo – sort of the poetic equivalent of what Eminem does in Eight Mile. This was followed by some poetry reading, wine drinking and overall savouring of the long, balmy Central Otago summer’s evening.

Congrats to Paul who pipped Jenny at the post for Best Poem with The Vacant Chair. He’s taking his bottle of Olssens riesling back to Canada to show the crowd in the great white north what we do with grapes down here.

Thanks to Wanaka Beats 107.3 FM who helped us out with an amp and microphone and made sure not a word was missed.

Be sure to join us for our next Open Mic on February 14 – the theme is Anti-Valentine’s Day, your  chance to indulge in a spot of literary cycnicism, which we can never get enough of, truth be told.
