Open Mic Night featuring Michael Harlow – Monday 13 December

Poetic Justice will be welcoming award-winning poet Michael Harlow as guest reader at our Open Mic night on Monday, December 13. Harlow’s latest collection, The Tram Conductor’s Blue Cap, was a 2010 finalist in the New Zealand Post Book Awards. A good thing, too, because he’s a heck of a good writer.

From his New Zealand Society of Authors profile:

His poetry is distinctly European with a whimsical, questioning sensibility. His collaboration as librettist with the New Zealand composer Kit Powell is extensive. A practising Jungian psychotherapist, Harlow was awarded the 1986 Katherine Mansfield Memorial Fellowship and is the 2009 Burns Fellow at the University of Otago.

And of course, we’ll be holding our regular Open Mic session as well, with a bottle of Olssens Wine up for grabs. See you there!

When: Monday, 13 December, 8pm

Where: Upstairs at Kai Whaka Pai, Wanaka
