The Poetic Justice Formal Poetry Competition

To mark the one year anniversary of Poetic Justice, and in conjunction with our Poetry Formal, we are holding a poetic competition.

Here’s the deal. Write a poem (or more than one poem) in a formal form. We don’t care which form, but just in case you’re more educated then us (or remember your school years more clearly), please specify this for us.

Some forms to check out: sonnet, villanelle, ballad, sestina, terza rima, heroic verse. Go wild …

Submit the poem to us in the body of an email (poeticjusticewanaka@gmail.com) or in hard copy on the night of the Poetry Formal, October 9 at Bar UNO.

The winning poet bags a bottle of Olssens wine and has the opportunity to showcase his or her work on the Poetic Justice website and the Wanaka Sun.

Write away!
